How to clean your cement tiles

Everyday stains

1. Clean up spills as soon as possible with a clean cloth or paper towel to prevent the stain from setting.
2. Mix warm water with a mild soap or detergent and apply it to the stained area with a soft-bristled brush. Scrub gently — avoid abrasive materials that can damage the surface.
3. For stubborn stains, try a paste of baking soda and water. Let it sit a few minutes before scrubbing with a brush.
4. If the stain persists, use a commercial stain remover that is safe for cement tile. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and test on a small, inconspicuous area first.
5. For particularly tough stains that penetrated the color layer, sand lightly with fine 600 sandpaper and reapply the sealer (at least 2 coats) to prevent future stains.

Prevention

Prevention is the best cure: sweep and mop regularly, and clean up spills promptly. A well-sealed, well-maintained floor develops a beautiful natural patina over the years.
