Cement Tiles Collection by Original Mission Tile
Shadow Diagonal: engraved terracotta cement tile
Diagonal is the simplest of the four patterns: one clean cut from corner to corner, with the two triangles sitting on slightly different planes so the line between them reads as a crisp shadow. The relief is pressed into the surface instead of painted on, and the terracotta body is one solid handmade color all the way through. Each tile is 8×8 in (20×20 cm) and 5/8 in (1.60 cm) thick, reduced to 3/8 in (0.95 cm) at the deepest point of the carving.
Where Diagonal works: it is the quietest pattern of the collection and the easiest to lay out. Run every diagonal the same way and you get one continuous stripe across the wall; turn four tiles around a point and they close into a square or a pinwheel. Good for backsplashes, shower walls and any surface where you want texture without a motif competing with the cabinetry. On the floor of the same room, our flat S-107 Terra-cotta 8×8 matches the color exactly.
Note: All cement tile designs can be customized by using our 60 colors palette, regular lead time 4-6 weeks.
Recommendations:
Cement Tile might show variation in color and design and will not be identical piece to piece. This is a result of its handmade process and the nature of cement. We suggest mixing tiles from different boxes during setting to produce a beautiful and naturally rich appearance. Details could be noticed in a close-up, but will be invisible when installation is completed.
By following our recommendations your Cement Tiles will result in a beautiful, durable and easy to maintain surface that can be enjoyed for many years: installation guidelines & installation video
Cement tiles may be used to cover any surface either for residential or commercial applications: Floors, walls, stairs, back splashes, ceilings, counter tops, swimming pools, fountains & facades.
Cement tiles can be used either in-doors or outdoors.
For in-doors installations, it is recommended to apply a penetrating sealer or/and polish the tiles to protect them from water, grease and other stains.
For outdoors installations, it is highly important to protect your tiles with a penetrating sealer containing UV protection and polish the tiles with wax in order to avoid direct sunlight. This will help the tile to preserve its color and natural patina.
For installations in pools or water places, use a penetrating sealer to make your tile and grout lines are waterproof to avoid any filtration and additionally apply an acrylic concrete surface sealer on top, also it’s recommended to use a waterproof membrane.
